Tim "Chewy" Cruz


Assistant Drumline Instructor, Littlerock H.S / Head of Percussion, Challenger M.S.

Tim "Chewy" Cruz started his drumming career his sophmore year in the drumline at Littlerock high school in Littlerock, CA under the direction of Tre' Balfour. There he learned Tre's philosophy of "Drumming through life and life through drumming".

His senior year he was chosen to be in the Tournament of Roses Honor Band done through Pasadena City College. From there performed with P.C.C Winter percussion ensemble 2004-2005.

Chewy marched Impulse Drum and Bugle corp 2005. Pulse Percussion in 2006 and were 8th overall in the Independent World category in W.G.I. World Championships. Chewy has been taught by numerous instructors including Tre' Balfour, Ike Jackson, Ken McGrath, Makana Sylva, Matt Noren, Jesus Alcantar, Tad Carpenter, and Ron Nuttall.

Chewy currently is the assistant drumline instructor at Littlerock High School and is the head of percussion at Challenger Middle School and is now a thought out percussion instructor through out Southern California.
