Vater Artist // Dick DiCenso
[ Dick DiCenso ]
Dick DiCenso
Group // Drum Set Instructor: Quincy, MA
Stick  //
Dick DiCenso opened DiCenso's Drum Shop in 1982 as a further extension of his love for drumming. The love affair began as a 5-year-old child after being given a toy drum set for Christmas. His family helped foster his passion for the instrument, and he continued playing into high school with marching, concert, and all-state bands. He then went on to study with Stanley Spector, Richard Pearson and Charles Alden. His professional career began at age 13. His first "real gig" was a bridal shower in 1955, and to this day, he still plays gigs whenever possible, preferably jazz.

However, playing takes a backseat these days to teaching drum lessons. Dick began teaching back in junior high when his school's band director asked for help to teach other eighth graders. He's been teaching percussion ever since in fact, Dick has taught many of the areas finest players and teachers!

Over the years, Dick has taught lessons in Charlie Alden's drum shop and worked as a sales and general manager for Harris-Fandel. But, in 1982, Dick turned his life-long dream into a reality by opening up his own drum shop.

Since its opening, DiCenso's Drum Shop has built a solid client base with an excellent reputation for providing knowledge, quality, and enthusiasm!
