Danilo Guzmán was born on 1976, and he started to play professionally at the age of 14 with Gaviota, a very famous and recognized band from Costa Rica; from that point, he has developed a very successful career as a session and live drummer.
In 1996, Danilo was invited to perform at the Festival Rock Latino in Miami, winning the award Best Festivals Drummer.
Danilo has recorded many of the jingles for Coca Cola, Republic Tobacco, Channel 7, Heineken, Arenas and other companies.
He has also an extensive discography with Costa Rican and international artists like El Consorcio (Spain), Braulio (Spain), Luis Alfredo (Spain), Armando Manzanero (Mexico), Arnoldo Castillo, Gaviota, Suite Doble, Geovanny Escalante, Luis Montalbert and many others.
In 2002, he played with Jorge Luis Chicoy (Irakeres guitar player) and in 2003; he played with the recognized guitar player Luis Salinas at the National Theater of Costa Rica.
During 2004 and part of 2006, Danilo was the drummer for Caliente Band (Bongos at Downtown Disney, FL) and Papos Groove (Epcot Center, FL).
In December of 2004, he was invited to perform in the show Noches Latinas at Pleasure Island, Florida, being the drummer for Rey Ruiz, Elvis Crespo, David Bustamante, Oscar DLeón and José Feliciano.
During 2007, he played with Porpartes, a Costa Rican band nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards.
In 2008, he was selected to be the drummer for the TV Show Cantando por un sueño, produced by Channel 7, Costa Rica.
Danilo plays currently as a free-lance, live and studio session drummer, and he is the official drummer for the following Costa Rican artists: Philarmonic Orchestra of Costa Rica, Arnoldo Castillo, Bernardo Quesada, Magaly Gutiérrez, Allan Aguilar, and SD Band (a band that performs tributes to artists like A Perfect Circle, Tool, Metallica, and Pink Floyd).
